Leadership and Management
The ILM Level 5 Award and ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management programmes have been designed to give practising or aspiring middle managers a solid foundation for their formal development in the role of leader / manager in a business or organisation. They are delivered through a combination of online and work based learning to develop a range of leadership and management skills. Programmes are split into modules, each with a blend of online learning, videos, reading and practical activities. Students submit reflective diaries, from which they receive regular feedback, and these also form the basis of their assessment.

The Award is a concise qualification consisting of two modules. In the first, 'Understanding the management role', participants explore the nature of the middle management role and critically evaluate their own managerial ability. In the second mandatory unit, 'Assessing your own leadership capability and performance', participants explore leadership styles within their organisation, the commitment and motivation of their teams and their own ability to motivate teams to meet organisational goals.
The Certificate builds upon and broadens the leadership and management skills gained through the Award, which acts as its first two modules (and does not have to be taken separately). It also develops the participant's leadership and management capabilities while providing the opportunity to put these into practice in real situations. The Certificate in Leadership and Management is tailored to deliver results for yourself, the people around you and your organisation, while also meeting the varying needs of learners across all employment sectors.

This programme offers participants the opportunity to gain recognition, formal credit and exemptions for learning acquired prior to enrolling.
