The ILM Level 5 Certificate & Diploma in Leadership & Management are designed for practising middle managers, helping them to develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
The ILM Level 5 Certificate and ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management programmes have been designed for practising middle managers, helping them to develop their skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
The courses are delivered through a combination of on-line and work based learning to develop a range of leadership and management skills, both formally and through work based learning. Programmes are split into modules, each with a blend of on-line learning and practical activities. Students submit an assignment for each module, from which they receive regular feedback, and these also form the basis of their assessment. In addition, each student has a monthly coaching session (by Skype or ‘phone) with their own dedicated management coach.
The Certificate consists of six modules (detailed below), which provide a broad coverage of the key skills required by a practising middle manager. This provides a solid foundation for personal development and provides valuable insights into the skills required to manage a variety of situations.
or one module:
The Diploma builds upon and broadens the skills and knowledge gained through the Certificate, which acts as its first six modules. Students work with their coach to develop a personal development plan (PDP), based on an analysis of the challenges arising facing their organisation, their strengths and the development areas that arise. They then work on their PDP over the remaining months of the programme, interacting with their coach and reflecting on progress and achievements on a monthly basis. Then, at the end of the process, they evaluate the impacts on their knowledge and capabilities on their organisation of the delivery of the plan. These plans, reflections and evaluations form the basis of the assessment.
